How The Rain Got Me

Staying here in my room,
I saw the skies turn gray.
The air was full of gloom,
But my mind is at play.

I heard the thunder clap,
Nervous I was and felt troubled.
Weird but excitement had me wrapped,
This feeling makes me buffled.

Flashes of lightning, it was blinding,
Startled my fleeting thought.
The anticipation kept on growing,
My fear and my joy fought.

Alas my ears have heard music,
When drops of rain fell the roof.
Somehow both happy and nostalgic,
My feelings showed, I was moved.

I saw ripples formed in the puddle,
Made me remember mem'ries of old.
In my mind, searching in the rubble,
Thoughts of you and me unfold.

The rain dropped stronger and fiercer,
It had me a bit distracted.
But the more it fell, it became clearer,
I am missing you at that moment.

The sound seemed like an applause,
That makes the heart excited and glad.
Time traced my mind when we're close,
We finally saw each other! It was mad!

Rain trailing on the window pane,
Had tears rolling down my cheek.
Still feeling the hurt and the pain,
Losing sight of you, my heart was pricked.

Earth made clean, the scent was nice,
Mem'ry had a glimpse of one sweet day.
Roses on the floor, rain on the rise,
I offered my heart, you swept away.

The air is cold, feeling the chill,
Hands are numb, my skin is pale.
Just like the time I felt the thrill,
Seeing your smile, nothing will fail.

The rain kept on falling, it kept going,
The mind was on race, it won't seem to stop.
Need to go outside, to quench the aching,
An urge everytime, never abrupt.

Unceasing how the clouds have cried,
It stirred my soul, missing a piece.
Just like me who have always tried,
Catching your attention, begging her please.

Leaving it all, I go outside,
To feel the rain, it has been a while.
Thoughts of you, can no longer hide,
Out comes the true me, a pluviophile.

You have sunk to my being,
It's this same sensation.
Submitted myself so willing,
To those eyes of sincere affection.

The rain had me falling, the feelings remain,
But this time around, nothing is the same.
Knew God gave me you, dear Nicomaine,
Love I have found, all after the rain.
