Some may think that this post may be late with respect to the hashtag #AlDubJourneyToForever, but it will never be, especially when you hear my case. When I was about to create a write-up on the said HT, there was something bothering me at the time. It was like I cannot make the content wholeheartedly because there was something lacking that I have not seen the love team encounter yet. Yes, the article was supposed to be the journey to forever, but the idea was rough since there was an element that I never saw between the two, for the last 7 weeks that they have been together on screen... Not until I've seen the episode earlier today, September 4.
When I got to see the episode today, and have seen the first love quarrel between the two, that was when the journey to forever took form. You may think that it's pessimistic of me to comprehend that the road to a lasting relationship is not perfect. Well, reality speaks for itself: there is no perfect relationship. One way or the other, couples just like Alden and Maine will have those days when arguments will arise, disputations will come along, and misunderstanding may challenge a bond created by love. But that's when a loving relationship will grow stronger: if they could face those differences against time, ideas, principles, and preferences and still manage to get along well.
Take a look at what occurred when Yaya was looking for Alden to notice her. She tried and tried, and she eventually got tired. From that simple stressful moment, feelings of hate emerged. And because of that hate, Alden was ignored with Yaya not yielding to his ingratiating. He cannot win favor for her attention. But that's when I found respect for Alden, which most men should emulate. That if their partners are not in the mood for swinging, it is better to lower your pride, plead like there's no tomorrow, and make them fall for you again. That's one of the cultures diminishing among couples these days. Men think that if their women are acting all moody and emotional, that they don't have a soft spot for kilig & courtship. In turn, some guys just quit the love game and end up upset. Now that can break a relationship. Please remember that forever does not end with never, but with happily ever after!
I have to admit, Maine's actually cute when she has all the tantrums. Bet Alden can't help but become all romantic seeing how cuddly Maine was when she's throwing out her childish side. Like who wouldn't! Seeing those droopy eyes, those pouting lips, and those movements would challenge any guy to win a girl's heart. That's how forever is created. That's how forever will last. A loving relationship can endure beyond a lifetime if memories of sweet togetherness will be created despite of the many bad weathers that will be encountered between the couple. The courtship should last when it's ought to last. Forever is not a one-day event. It's not as grand as you think it is. Forever starts with a second, then grows a minute, turns into hours, lasts for days, lives for weeks, endures for years, and it never ends in decades or centuries.
Arguments and issues should not stay too long between couples. That's what I saw between Maine and Alden yesterday. They became sweeter to each other after the love quarrel. That's how things should be in this world. I bet divorces or annulments will cease if that is the case. Anyone who have been into LQs know that listening, understanding, and tolerance will quickly dissipate the hate. That a song, a dance, a poem, a box of chocolates, or flowers can make negative feelings disappear.
The road to forever is never easy, but it's worth it, especially when you know that the person you love will be yours for keeps: locked in the recesses of your heart, never moving, never waving. Because we believe in forever when we meet that person who we'll cherish our eternity with.
