I found the HT yesterday to be tasteful in every way. AlDub is indeed a blessing to all who have seen and watched it on TV. But how are the blessings measuring up? Let's count the blessings for now and the tweets later.
1. Eat Bulaga found itself a wonderful gift for its 36th year anniversary. A gift so unique that it introduced a concept that's nowhere available on Philippine TV. As dubbed by Sir Joey de Leon, Kalyeserye is a totally different idea. Ever since the Problem Solving segment for Juan For All was hyped with Yaya Dub, and infusing it with the AlDub craze, nothing has been the same. Ratings are going off the scale that it has done the unimaginable: a noontime variety show beating massive primetime ratings! Now that's a blessing well-earned by the show considering the fact that it has been consistent through the years in making the viewers not just happy, but also making them socially, economically, and environmentally aware.
2. Jose, Wally, and Paolo are already as skilled in their craft of making people laugh with their witty but tactful manner of comedy. When everyone thought that these three are at the prime of their career, here comes a challenge for them to fulfill: to play different roles while still applying their skill. It was comedy to the next level. The AlDub love team created an environment where JoWaPao can explore their limits and creativity: the perfect sandbox for growth and experience. We have seen Doktora, Duhrizz, Nidora, Frankie, Lolo Franing, Tinidora, and Tidora grace our screens with portrayals so genuine that we can't help but laugh in wonder and amazement. We were able to see spontaneity and ad libing at its best! The AlDub phenomenon gave them a room for improvement.
3. Specifically, Wally was one of the most blessed in the booming of the AlDub craze. People saw the same glory he had in his career before the saddening incident occurred. Many say he has surpassed his old self due to his dedication and creativity in bringing Lola Nidora to life. It was a moment of retribution, a time of giving back to the show and to the people that trusted him. The chance renewed his faith, not only to God, but to himself, knowing that he is once again accepted by the same society that condemned him in the past. His achievements in comedy have conquered his inadequacies, follies, and mistakes he once had. His was a great blessing of acceptance, feeling the Atonement of the Savior has graced his life. Financial blessings have also poured in, right in time to support him and his family in a great time of need, sustaining hospital and medication bills for one of his children fighting against cancer.
4. Alden Richards has also been greatly blessed with the AlDub Nation supporting his back. He's already 1 million strong with his fans all over social media. His presence in Eat Bulaga was raised over many notches due to the created love team that swept, not just the whole nation, but the world. Tons of projects stormed his way to the point of his exhaustion, 7 days a week. He now holds the title of "Pambansang Bae", a title that he alone deserves. But of the most important blessings he received due to his professionalism at work, love for family, and devotion to God, none could deny that the best was a woman graced from heaven in the form of Nicomaine Dei Mendoza; a blessing of not only a love team, but someone who he may share his life with for good. Ever since that day their eyes met, nothing has been the same in Alden's life. He has never been more inspired, more driven, and more motivated.
5. Maine Mendoza already has everything any person could want: a loving family, financial prosperity, good education, an excellent circle of friends, and a joyous life. But there are still some things missing such as the fulfillment of her ambitions, an amazing love life, and a family of her own. Hers was different because nothing material could satisfy the missing pieces that only time and Deity could provide. But God hears the righteous desires of our hearts and He gave more than enough to make the cute little princess happy. He gave her a shot at stardom through Dubsmashing. She was able to experience a bit of acting through her role as Yaya Dub. It was all about her grouchiness at first, well, not until another blessing was given to her, pending for more than 5 years in the making. God gave her a chance for a relationship to blossom in the form of Richard Faulkerson Jr. She has been blessed with a man that may complete the essence of her existence, a person that she would share forever with; an individual who will hold her dear. And the blessings keep getting better and better with a movie debut that she will be a part with, this December. Is there anything else that she could ask for?
6. Finally, us, the fans, the people who have been captivated by the AlDub fever. Who says that we're only spectators in this whole thing? Many of us here have been blessed by this love team, one way or another. I for one was blessed to have that faith in love stories coming true. That love in this time and age is not instant, just like in the old days. It made many people realize that love founded on the principles of patience, hardwork, and virtue are worth the effort, as it is sweeter. Some gained the hope that their love stories do not end in vain. That God will provide the right person, at the right place, at the right time, at the right circumstance, as long as people are worthy of such blessings. Younger teens have learned that there is no need to rush a relationship, not until they have finished their studies with flying colors and made their parents proud. The Church regained a sense of confidence that there's a show on TV that promotes the worth of a marriage, that yielding to short and sultry pleasures are not solutions to a virtuous and precious family life. Students appreciated the value of a good education and how it can be a tool for future success.
There are so many blessings, many, many more, that the AlDub love team has given to all of us. It's up to us to realize it and be thankful.
