Etiquette for AlDub Fans

In line with the recent movie called "Etiquette for Mistresses" and through Talla's suggestion, I have created the book-inspired rulebook that will serve as a guide to many of us AlDub fans on how to behave, carry ourselves, and show discipline as fans.

1. Know your Place
When you see Yaya Dub or Alden, remember that you're a fan, and nothing more. Don't let your emotions show in front of them. It could go bad. Keep your distance and respect their personal territory.

2. Even if they tell you it's okay, don't let that go to your head.
Alden and Maine are descent people who love their fans. They're not the type to let their fans down. So even if they tell you that what they're saying is okay, don't abuse them or push your luck. Equate their decency with some of your utmost courtesy.

3. Fans should be ready not to give up schoolwork, projects, exams, job interviews, or birthdays.
While members of the AlDub Nation are always into watching Kalyeserye, do not let it get in the way of your major commitments. Do not let your love for Alden and Maine be the cause of your distraction. Instead, have them as your inspiration. There's always a replay you could watch later.

4. Be friends with their family but avoid being too cozy.
As a fan, being a friend of a family member is more than enough to satisfy one's thirst for fan attention. However, don't be too comfortable that you might unintentionally pry into their private lives. Keep your distance still. They're less trouble-prone so just keep the relationship civil.

5. Patronizing the products they endorse also means that you are showing support to their endeavors and your love to the fandom.

6. DON'T VISIT THEIR HOUSE! Wait for the right time and place to be close to them.

7. To see them in public and asking them for a selfie is okay. Including them in your selfies without their consent shows your lack of the fan spirit. Ask them. Otherwise, the opportunity may not come again.
Fandom is lovely when you recognize their popularity. You're a fan and they are perfectly aware. Don't deny yourself of the privilege.

8. Never believe and never say anything unfriendly against their bashers and naysayers. Not even when other fans are doing so.
Alden and Maine are people that promotes peace and love among everyone. Don't feel that destroying or tearing down others are appreciated and liked just because they're for the fandom. You're actually doing the opposition a favor. Just zip it and keep things quiet.

9. Fans keep themselves busy in social media. But a fan who is a fan of substance, and is independent, means he or she is better. (Translation: Get a Life)

10. Be proud! (Make sure that everyone knows you're a member of the AlDub Nation.)
There is no better fan like a fan spreading the love.

11. Never watch alone.
The kilig always feels better when you have people watching together with you.

12. When they do not have episodes together, charge it to their dedication and professionalism. Not bashing them means respect to their personal goals.

13. Fans have their own networks to support and love. It is helpful for the fans of AlDub Nation to focus on their own. Jumping into the other to peek and check is not a good idea. (Some fans tend to say something bad when they do so.)
Because of your position and contribution, you should be already happy as you are with the good vibes here at the AlDub Nation. Let others be and leave everyone else just as happy.

14. Fans don't complain.
They shouldn't. Complaining is just so immature!

15. Being a fan, we should try harder.
At the end of the day, we exhaust our emotions watching the show. No matter what happens, whether the episode is good or not so good, according to the preference of a few, our loyalty to the love team should be stronger than yesterday, knowing that Tamang Panahon is on its way.

16. Give them some time at home as soon as we feel that they're tired.
When you see Maine or Alden being live on their social media accounts in the early morning, please do not flood their feeds with you asking to notice them. It's either they're too excited for sleep or they're tiring themselves to sleep. Be sensitive and just give them a short, simple, and sweet reminder for them to rest.

17. It is normal for a fan to be linked with other fandoms, preferably, something that they also love.
In the age where we can exercise the power of choice, please don't be too retarded thinking that it's just AlDub all the way. Yaya loves One Direction and Alden likes the Beatles. It's alright to have other preferences too.

18. If you see them in public and you're thinking of staging an accident of running into them, think: How many accidents can I pull of in one month?
It's either you're a fandom group in the barangay where Juan for All is airing, or you're plain stalking... Creepy.

19. Don't make unnecessary enemies within the fandom.
If you listen to other fans and their stories, the world is full of love and short on loving. We're just for one fandom... Hello?!

20. Remind yourself to pray and be thankful for everything about the show -- the food you ate while watching, the plot, their health, the kilig, the Lolas, the laughter, etc.
In God you trust so your act of gratitude is a must.

21. Don't use your anger as a weapon. Haters probably had enough of that from their fellow haters.
Haters nag. Bashers malign. If only for that reason, a member of the AlDub Nation doesn't use anger to stress and make the point. Rather, use nice words, encouraging statements, and good vibes to turn things around.

22. Resist the urge to hate the hater.
For every action, according to Newton's Law, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

23. Perish the thought that they'll never be the one.
They have been acting for so long that it's impossible not for them to fall in love. And because they are falling, it might end up that they will marry each other... Hopefully. As a fan, we're the ones to hope for Tamang Panahon.

24. Married men who are fans don't shy themselves away as members of the AlDub Nation, as a rule.

25. A fan with talents to share leads a double life, while a fan is already complete in itself. Cheer up! Sharing your talents will make you whole.
Life in this modern world is so open that sharing your talents sincerely will make people happy. There is no such thing as a person who has no talent to show.

26. Resist the urge to shower Alden and Maine with too much attention. You might do something you shouldn't!
Too much love will kill... Anyone...

27. When in doubt... Tweet!

28. When all else fails, watch episode 1!
Some AlDub fans last; some do not.

These may not cover everything else, but these rules should be more than enough to sustain an AlDub fan into supporting Alden and Maine in the long run, in the right light. We don't have to be mistresses. As fans, members of the AlDub Nation should be individuals that have the etiquette and the decorum . We have class just as Maine does. We are refined just like what Alden shows. May we do our best to uphold anything that would benefit everyone.
